Team unveils its identity, announces Yaamava’ Resort & Casino as Founding Partner, with
owners Alexis Ohanian, Issa Rae and Savannah James in attendance

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — LOVB (pronounced LOVE) Los Angeles officially unveiled its new team name, Los Angeles Orbit, today at Intuit Dome, marking the next chapter for professional women’s volleyball in Los Angeles ahead of the team’s inaugural season.

The reveal brought together Los Angeles Orbit investors Alexis Ohanian, Issa Rae and Savannah James, LOVB Commissioner Sandra Idehen, volleyball legend Misty May-Treanor, activist Malala Yousafzai, team leadership, players and supporters of women’s sports for the first public unveiling of the team’s name, logo and visual identity. Los Angeles Orbit players in attendance included Carli Lloyd, Kotoe Inoue, Annie Drews Schumacher, Madi Kingdon Rishel and Kathryn Boden.

The name Orbit is rooted in the idea of gravity, the pull, energy and connection created when people rally around something they love. At the center of that orbit is her: the athlete, the fan, the girl in the stands and the teammate. It is the foundation of the brand’s central idea: Everything Revolves Around Her.

As part of the reveal, Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel was announced as Los Angeles Orbit’s first Founding Partner, supporting the club’s community impact efforts and fan experience throughout its inaugural season. The partnership introduces Aces Up, a new community impact platform connecting moments on the court to tangible impact across Los Angeles. For every ace Los Angeles Orbit records at home, Yaamava’ will donate $1,000 to support the club’s community work throughout the city.

The team’s new identity was brought to life through a launch video featuring a special cameo by Zhuri James, daughter of Los Angeles Orbit investor Savannah James and narrated by Issa Rae, also an investor. The event at Intuit Dome marked a significant milestone for Los Angeles Orbit as it prepares to take the court for its inaugural season and establish a new home for professional women’s volleyball in Los Angeles.

Up next for the organization is the Free Fan Fest at Intuit Dome on Saturday, September 26 from 11a.m-3p.m. Fans will have a chance to meet Los Angeles Orbit players, join in volleyball activities, crafts and customize team gear.
