FREEPORT, TX, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Zinda Law Group represents fifteen plaintiffs in a civil case filed June 30, 2026, in the District Court of Brazoria County, Texas, Cause No. 141433-CV. The petition names Olin Corporation, Blue Cube Operations LLC, and three other defendants.
The petition alleges that at approximately 8:30 a.m. on May 20, 2025, at least 8,011 pounds of chlorine gas were released from a chlorine plant in Freeport, Texas, that the petition alleges Olin and Blue Cube own, operate, manage, and/or control. According to the petition, the release continued for over forty-five minutes, and a cloud of chlorine gas spread to an adjacent industrial jobsite, where the plaintiffs were at or near the site. The petition states that most plaintiffs worked there performing industrial services.
The petition alleges that the plaintiffs sustained injuries including respiratory distress, chest pain and tightness, shortness of breath, throat irritation, persistent coughing, and headaches. It further alleges that several plaintiffs have been referred to or are under the care of pulmonary specialists.
The petition asserts claims for negligence and gross negligence against all defendants and a negligent hiring claim against one defendant. It seeks actual damages, exemplary damages, interest, and court costs.
The allegations in the petition have not been proven, and the case is ongoing.
“Our firm represents these fifteen plaintiffs, and we are committed to presenting their claims in court,” said Jack Zinda, Trial Lawyer and CEO at Zinda Law Group.
